Every CQD cleaning operative is DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked before they are placed on any client site. The DBS check is the UK government's official criminal records check — it reveals any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, or final warnings that might be relevant to working in a position of trust. For cleaning companies, DBS checks are essential because cleaning staff work in your premises, often outside normal business hours, with access to sensitive areas.

COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is the UK law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health. Public liability insurance protects you and your business in the event that our cleaning operations cause damage to your property or injury to a third party. We are happy to provide proof of insurance on request — and we recommend that any cleaning contractor you consider should be able to do the same.

CQD maintains a comprehensive Health & Safety policy covering all aspects of our cleaning operations. For every client site, we carry out a site-specific risk assessment before cleaning begins — identifying hazards, assessing risks, and putting control measures in place. Our H&S documentation is available to clients on request and is updated whenever site conditions change.

In addition to DBS checks, all CQD cleaning operatives are reference verified before placement. We obtain and verify employment references for every team member — confirming their work history, reliability, and conduct.
